In order to create a new user on your computer, please follow these steps:
- Open Settings: Click on the Windows Start menu and select the gear-shaped icon to open Settings. Alternatively, you can press Windows Key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings directly.
- Access Accounts Section: In the Settings window, click on "Accounts." This section is where all the user account settings are managed.
- Navigate to Family & Other Users: Inside the Accounts section, look for the "Family & other users" option (or a similarly named option) on the left-hand menu. Click on it to proceed.
- Add a New User: On the right side of the window, under "Other users," you'll find an option to "Add someone else to this PC" or "Add a new user." Click on this option to start creating a new user account.
- Create Account without Microsoft Account: In the window that appears, you'll be prompted to enter the new user's Microsoft account details. Since you want to create an account without a Microsoft account, look for a link that says "I don’t have this person's sign-in information" and click on it. Then, choose the option for "Add a user without a Microsoft account."
- Set Username and Password: You will now be able to set up a new username for the account. Enter the desired username. You'll also have the option to create a password for the account. It's recommended to set a password for security purposes.
- Complete the Setup: After entering the username and password, follow any additional on-screen instructions to complete the setup of the new user account.
- Switch to the New User Account: Once the account is created, you can switch to the new user account by logging out of the current account and selecting the new account on the login screen.
